Winchester manufactured this ammo for Australian military and police applications – but maybe no one is doing anything illegal in Australia these days, which is why Winchester decided to keep it in the American market. Suits us just fine!

This is a sniper’s 7.62x51 cartridge. It’s designed to deliver the flat trajectory and stellar accuracy a soldier or cop needs in their line of work, although we’re glad you’ll get to use it for recreational purposes instead. (It’ll function just fine in 308 rifles, too!)

Be sure that the 135 grain hollow point bullet isn’t engineered to expand once it’s penetrated its target. The opening in the bullet’s tip is only there because the lead core was poured through it while still molten. The core hardened in place so it could perfectly mold to the contours of the jacket.

This ammo’s consistent primers and charges of clean-burning propellant team up to treat the shooter to consistent recoil, muzzle velocities, point of aim and shot trajectories. If you’re out for reloadable ammo, then these new, non-surplus rounds have the brass cases you’re looking for.
